Jones, Director for the Center on Politics and Race in America Rutgers University–NewarkJames R. Jones will be discussing his new book, The Last Plantation: Racism and Resistance in the Halls of CongressOn Wednesday, October 2 at 5:15 pm at the University of California Washington Center. Dr. Jones is an Associate Professor of Africana Studies and Sociology and the inaugural director of the Sheila Y. Oliver Center for Politics and Race in America at Rutgers University, Newark. His newest work analyzes how racism shapes the US congressional workplace and in return, how Black staffers resist unequal and racist work conditions.
