What is the Key Executive Leadership Certificate Program?
The Key Executive Leadership Certificate Program is a certificate program designed for mid-career professionals at the GS-12 level (or NGO equivalent) and above who are seeking to become effective, top-quality team and executive leaders.
Aligned with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), the Key Executive Leadership Certificate Program is recognized and used by agencies to meet the requirements for the Senior Executive Service (SES).
The program is intended for mid-career and senior level professionals seeking an opportunity to expand their current knowledge of contemporary public management knowledge, values, and skills.
The Key Executive Leadership Certificate Program consists of eight courses held in a rigorous experiential learning environment where students acquire contemporary public management knowledge, values, and skills. Additionally, during the program students will receive six one-on-one coaching sessions and two 360° evaluations.

When and how are courses offered?
To accommodate the schedule of working professionals, classes are held on selected weekends (Friday and Saturday) twice a month on the campus of American University, 4801 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20016.
The Key Executive Leadership Open Enrollment Certificate Program operates on a rolling admission with cohorts starting in the fall and spring semesters.
Tuition for the program is $21,000 per student. The fee includes tuition, six coaching sessions, two 360° evaluations, and all learning materials.
What payment options are available?
Students funding their own program can pay by check, credit card, or through installments. For additional information please contact Key.
Payment can be made over two federal fiscal years, by semester, or paid in full at the beginning of the program.
Agencies sponsoring one or more students are eligible for a tuition discount through the Federal Supply Schedules; contract number GS-02F-0012X.
