Direct deposit is the fastest way to get paid at AU – sign up now

Are you still receiving paper checks? Be sure to sign up for direct deposit for your paychecks. No need to go to the bank or worry about the check getting lost in the mail. Direct deposit is the fastest way to get paid.

Here’s what you need to know: 

Until recently, you could not use the same banking information for both student reimbursements and refunds, and payroll deposit in Eagle Service…but now you can! To get started, you will need to activate your account for payroll direct deposit. For security purposes, you will need to enter your bank account and routing numbers to make any changes. 

How to sign up for Direct Deposit:

1. Login to the myAU Portal (myau.american.edu)  
   • Under Personalized Links on the left side, click on Work @ AU, and  
   • Choose Eagle-Service - Banking Information 
2. In Eagle Service 
   • Choose Banking Information 
   • Click on + Add an Account 
   • Follow the instructions to add your bank account number and routing number. 
3. Under New Deposit, click the Activate button next to Payroll Deposit. 
   • Choose an effective date; the current date is the earliest that you can select.  
   • Add your routing number and bank account details, agree to the terms and conditions, and click Submit. 

Keep in mind: 

• Payroll Deposit won’t appear as an option until your employee onboarding documents are completed and verified, including sections 1 and 2 of your I‑9. You will need to present original documents to complete Section 2 of your I‑9.
• It can take up to two pay cycles for changes to direct deposit to go into effect. So get started as soon as possible to avoid paycheck delivery delays.
