Korean Studies
The Korean program offers courses in the Korean language emphasizing communication skills ranging from the elementary to the advanced levels with authentic and culture-based materials. Students will acquire command of conversational Korean through course content, task-based learning activities, in class projects, and interpretive communication through various reading and listening assignments. We help our students gain both a higher degree of cultural and linguistic proficiency based on the ACTFL World Readiness Standards with links between communication and culture applied in making connections and comparisons. Students can connect with local Korean communities in the area for their real-world connection beyond the classes through various Korean cultural events and community engagement activities linked with Korean courses.
