A Week of Events on Copyright and Access to Knowledge in South Africa
PIJIP is co-organizing a week of debates on copyright and access to knowledge in South Africa the week of January 23rd, with a coalition of three university groups and four civil society organizations.
The cohosts for these events are

On January 23 and 24, the University of Pretoria will host events exploring the following topics:
- Natural language processing,
- Climate modeling
- A right to research in African Law
- African leadership on the right to research
On January 26 and 27, the University of Cape Town will host events on these topics:
- Digitizing African heritage
- Health research
- African AI and digital humanities
- A right to research in African law
- WIPO, AfCFTA and future work on IP
