Olivia Bedi ('05)
Olivia is a Partner in the Litigation and Intellectual Property Team at Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP. She is a trusted advisor on civil litigation matters, especially regarding intellectual property, and has represented individuals and corporations across the country in complex technological matters.
Olivia has been widely recognized for her legal successes. Olivia has also been named to The Best Lawyers in America List since 2018, the Chicago Lawyer Inaugural Top 50 Women in the Law Award in 2020, Leading Lawyers since 2015, 40 under Forty Top Lawyers in 2014, and Crain’s 2020 Notable Minorities in Law 2020.
She also continues to serve as the Executive Director of a highly respected legal organization she founded - the Richard Linn American Inn of Court. In that capacity she helped create the Arlander Keys Scholarship in 2020 as a direct result of the Black Lives Matter riots. The Scholarship identifies a law student from a historically black college or university and awards the student with $10,000, in addition to mentoring in order to promote and uplift black law students pursuing a career in intellectual property law. She also leads mentoring of diverse members of the Linn Inn.
Olivia serves on the judicially appointed Racial Justice Diversity Committee for the Northern District of Illinois, which is tasked with studying the diversity of the bench and bar in Chicago. Through this committee’s work, the Court hopes to adopt methods to help overcome barriers to achieving equal justice.
