Professor Michael Carroll Published New Paper "The Triumph of Three Big Ideas in Fair Use Jurisprudence"

Professors Carroll and Peter Jaszi, published a new paper, The Triumph of Three Big Ideas in Fair Use Jurisprudence.  The article, published in the Tulane Law Review, argues that the Court’s decisions on fair use, which represent one-third of the Court’s total merits decisions, are historic.

The Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property along with TLS and Brazil-U.S. Legal and Judicial Studies Program hosted Pedro Abramovay, VP of Programs at Open Society Foundation and Yasmin Curzi, Fellow at Karsh Institute for Democracy at UVA for a discussion on The Role of Brazilian Courts in Shaping Digital Speech - Twitter/X vs. Misinformation.  The discussion was moderated by Prof. Michael Carroll.

PIJIP Assists Developing Countries Prepare For Design Law Treaty Negotiations

PIJIP Director Sean Flynn, Faculty Director Christine Farley and Counsel Andres Izquierdo are providing assistance to developing countries prepare for the negotiation of the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Design Law Treaty (DLT). The diplomatic conference to negotiate the DLT will be held November 11–22, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
