Vicctor E. Abramovich
Victor E. Abramovich is a lawyer, graduated with a diploma of honor from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina (UBA). He got his LL.M. at American University. He is currently Attorney General before the Supreme Court of Justice. Former Executive Secretary of the Institute of Public Policies in Human Rights of MERCOSUR (IPPDH). He was Vice President of the IACHR. He has been rapporteur of the Inter-American Commission for Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Nicaragua and special rapporteur on the rights of women and indigenous peoples. He is also a regular associate professor of Human Rights in the UBA Law School, and Professor at the National University of Lanús, Argentina, where he also directs a Master's Degree in Human Rights and Public Policies. He has been a visiting professor at the Universities of Valencia and Castilla-La Mancha and American University. He has been in charge of the UBA legal clinic in human rights and the Center for Legal and Social Studies (CELS) - one of the most recognized institutions dedicated to legal work in human rights in Latin America. Professor Abramovich served as Executive Director of CELS - where he has litigated numerous witness cases in local courts and the Inter-American system. Professor Abramovich has also served as Consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank (BID), and as a Legal Adviser to the Ombudsman of the City of Buenos Aires. He was a Consultant to the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights, where he also worked as Director of the program on the Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights.
