Dear AU Community:
We are writing to update you on the university’s dining program as we approach the end of the Spring 2024 semester. Over the past few months, we made significant progress on the complete renovation of the Terrace Dining Room (TDR). Our ability to complete this ambitious project would not be possible without the support and flexibility of the entire AU community. Thank you to all our community members, especially our meal plan holders for your patience and flexibility this semester.
As part of our operations plan for the spring, we hosted special events and opportunities for the community and our meal plan holders. One of the most prominent events was the campus visit and TDR takeover with Chef Bal Arneson. Throughout the day, our meal plan holders swiped in 2,389 times and the dining program and our partners at Chartwells were able to provide a 1:1 match of those swipes to the Eagles Helping Eagles Program to support members of the community with food insecurity. Our meal plan holders are invited to continue helping the Eagles Helping Eagles program by donating up to $75 in dining dollars or five guest meals now through May 8 before the spring semester dining program ends.
As a reminder, the dining program’s spring operations end on May 8, and we will begin our summer operation thereafter. New for this year, we are thrilled to announce the availability of weekly summer meal plans. Based on student feedback, these plans are designed to support our students in residence this summer with a variety of flexible options that can be renewed on a weekly basis. You can find information about these plans, our hours of operation for all venues, and up-to-date information at https://dineoncampus.com/au.
We wish everyone a successful end to the spring semester and a terrific summer. We look forward to welcoming you back in the fall when we unveil the brand-new Terrace Dining Room!
