- Chartwells To Begin Transitioning as AU’s New Dining Services Provider
We are pleased to announce that Chartwells has been chosen as AU’s new dining services provider and will begin transitioning and preparing the dining program for the fall semester officially on July 23.
Chartwells’ team will set up a Meet & Greet and Catering Showcase for members of the AU community on the following dates:
- August 19 – Meet & Greet – TDR – Mary Graydon Center
- September 5 – Catering Showcase – location to be determined.
Chartwells, a subsidiary of Compass Group, was selected after an extensive RFP and proposal review process that included students, faculty, and administrators. We take very seriously the importance of food choices to our community, and that commitment led us to select Chartwells as our dining partner. We believe that, in Chartwells, we have found a partner that understands the importance of community to AU and will work with us to develop a program that is responsive to our needs and values.
We expect Chartwells to bring a wide range of improvements to AU’s dining and culinary community while maintaining a focus on affordability for our students. Improvements include numerous new brands, local partnerships, sustainability and wellness programming, and technological enhancements. Improvements to AU’s certified Halal, Kosher, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan diets in the dining program also are anticipated.
We are enthusiastic about working in partnership with Chartwells to implement our shared vision of a dining experience that is tasty, varied, inclusive, healthy, and nurtures AU as a community.
Ann Marie Powell, Director of Dining and Auxiliary Services, will lead the AU transition team.
We look forward to sharing more with you about AU’s new dining program as fall approaches.
